Kosovar Institute for Research and Policy Development – KIPRED, has held today the round table on the subject “Political parties in Kosovo: Internal Democracy, political system and election campaign”. In this round table the discussion was held between representatives of five main political parties in Kosovo, Civil Society, Central Election Commission and other relevant organizations and institutions.
In this roundtable lead by the Executive Director of KIPRED, Mr. Lulzim Peci, there were discussed key actual subjects on internal democratic processes within political parties in country, gender quotes, inclusion of marginalised groups in political parties, law on elections, election processes of parties leaders, ideologies in parties, voting lists and other subjects related to internal democracy in parties.
This roundtable is organised by KIPRED and foreseen within the project “Balkan Electoral Comparative Study: Impact of Personal Vote on Internal Party Democracy” which is supported by Regional Research Promotion Programme – Western Balkans and University of Fribourg, and financed by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
The issues raised during today’s discussion will be treated in the study in which KIPRED is currently working on the operationalisation of the political parties, election system and internal democracy in parties.
